Wasteland 3 update should fix two of the game's broken trophies

By Sean Carey,
A new patch is available to download for Wasteland 3 that adds not only a new difficulty mode and new cosmetics but also fixes two of the game's trophies which many players have struggled to unlock since the game's launch.

The Wasteland 3 Patch 1.3.0 Robots & Rangers patch notes state that both the Book Learnin' and Answering Machine trophies should now be unlockable. Book Learnin' requires you to collect all the lore books throughout the game, while Answering Machine asks you to find all the various cassette tapes left around Colorado.

Players have struggled to unlock both of these trophies since the game first launched back in August last year. So far, we have just one tracked player who unlocked both of these in September. For the Book Learnin' trophy, a collectable note was missing from the game, leaving players unable to pop the trophy. The patch notes say that a note now "becomes available after passing a Leadership skill check when first meeting the Patriarch and then speaking to Magistrate Silas Watkins in Downtown Colorado Springs." It's unclear what has been fixed for the Answering Machine trophy.

The update went live nine hours ago across all platforms. So far we've seen just one unlock across both TrueAchievements and TrueTrophies. One player has managed to pop the Book Learnin' achievement today in the Windows 10 version of Wasteland 3.

The update also makes numerous bug fixes and improvements, and it adds a new difficulty mode called Tourist, which is easier than Rookie. Tourist lets you enjoy the story without having to worry about the game's difficulty. You can view the full list of patch notes over on the inXile website.
