The Lord of the Rings: Gollum pushed back into 2022

By Sean Carey,
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was due to launch this year, but developer Daedalic Entertainment has now confirmed that the stealth action-adventure has been delayed into 2022.

The news comes via a press release announcing a co-publishing and distribution agreement between Daedalic Entertainment and French publisher Nacon. Unfortunately, no specific reasons for the delay were given.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was announced back in 2019, and since then, details on the game have been somewhat light. We know that its a narrative-driven experience with stealth and action-adventure gameplay elements. You'll play as Gollum and experience untold parts of his story, including moments from his time as a slave under the Dark Tower and from his stay with elves at Mirkwood. You'll also need to contend with Gollum's split personality and side either with Gollum or Smeagol in several critical decisions.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum comes to PS4 and PS5 in 2022.
