BioWare book confirms Dragon Age 4 will be set in Tevinter

By Heidi Nicholas,
The most popular theory about the new Dragon Age, based off the snippets and teasers we've seen, is that it will be set in Tevinter. And, according to BioWare's book, that's exactly where we'll be heading, as BioWare confirms we are "Tevinter bound" in Dragon Age 4.

Dragon Age

This is according to the book BioWare: Stories and Secrets from 25 Years of Game Development. As spotted by Eurogamer's Tom Phillips, on page 324, right under the heading "Tevinter Bound," it says that "as BioWare entered its twenty-fifth year, the Dragon Age team was hard at work on Morrison, the code name of the long-awaited follow-up to Dragon Age: Inquisition. The game, helmed by executive producer Mark Darrah, will take players to Tevinter as the events of Inquisition and Trespasser threaten to forever change Thedas."

With that confirmation, Dragon Age fans can now turn to speculating about plot, gameplay, and just what we'll be up to in Tevinter. Most recently, a new piece of Dragon Age 4 concept art showed us a new armoured figure wielding an unusual bow similar to the one from the teaser trailer, leading Dragon Age players to begin speculating about arcane archers with magical weapons, and how the Tevinter setting could make it possible for a crossover with magic in combat.

We'll let you know as soon as we hear any more new Dragon Age details. In the meantime, what do you think of a Tevinter setting? Let us know in the comments!

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
