Immortals Fenyx Rising's first DLC, A New God, arrives this week with new gear & abilities

By Heidi Nicholas,
The first piece of Immortals Fenyx Rising DLC, A New God, takes us to Olympus Palace to undertake the Trials of the Olympians and earn a place in the Greek pantheon. A New God arrives in just a few days on January 28th — which is also the last day of the Immortals Fenyx Rising limited-time Blood of Zeus crossover quest, so if you haven't finished that yet and earned the rewards, make sure to start it up before the 28th!

Immortals is excellent, so more of it can only be a good thing. A New God brings new trials and new gameplay mechanics, four new ability upgrades, and a new gear set, which Ubisoft says has "fantastic perks fit for a god such as letting you perform additional jumps." We've also got the A New God trophies for you to look through before you start. It also looks as though A New God could be the last time we'll play as Fenyx, since the next two expansions bring us new playable characters.

Myths of the Eastern Realms arrives next and has us playing as Ku, with a new story and a new land based around Chinese mythology. In Myths of the Eastern Realms, Ku is the only one to have escaped being turned into clay after a war between Heaven and Earth. Ku will be going up against new gods and monsters, aided by the Goddess Nuwa and the Phoenix.

The next piece of DLC, The Lost Gods, brings a new style of gameplay as well as a new character. We'll be playing as Ash, with a more brawler style of combat, and a top-down isometric view. In The Lost Gods, a number of the Olympian gods have abandoned their homes, causing chaos to break out across the world. Fenyx, the God of Unity, recruits the mortal hero Ash to head to the Pyrite Islands and retrieve Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Demeter, and Boreas.

These expansions can be bought individually or all together as part of the Season Pass, which is priced at $39.99/£32.99 and which also unlocks access to the bonus quest, When the Road Gets Rocky.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
