Hogwarts Legacy delayed into next year

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer Avalanche Software have delayed their open-world, action-RPG Hogwarts Legacy into 2022.

A statement posted on Twitter says that the Hogwarts Legacy team need more time to complete the game. The brief statement reads, "Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us, so we are giving the game the time it needs."

Hogwarts Legacy was revealed during Sony's PS5 showcase back in September and was originally down for a 2021 release. In the action-RPG, you get to create your own character and explore the iconic castle and other locations from the Harry Potter universe. Set in the 1800s, a long time before Harry Potter's time at the school, you'll be tasked with attending lessons, mastering your magical talents, and stopping an ancient threat that's poised to tear the wizarding world apart — Harry Potter had it easy.

Hogwarts Legacy launches for PS5 and PS4 in 2022.
