Official Killzone website retired, online multiplayer is unaffected

By Sean Carey,
Guerilla Games has announced that the official website for the Killzone franchise has been retired. The website now displays a message from the developer and redirects visitors to the PlayStation website.

Patch 1.14

The statement from Guerilla (thanks, Eurogamer) reads, "The official website for the Killzone franchise has retired. Going forward, visitors to will be directed to" The developer stated that this change wouldn't impact any of the online multiplayer modes, player statistics or ranking data for Killzone Shadow Fall and Killzone: Mercenary (Vita). However, players can no longer create or manage clans in Shadow Fall.

It's unclear whether the website's shutdown is the beginning of the end for the Killzone franchise. Although the statement does say that online multiplayer modes won't be affected, it's probably a good idea to start unlocking any trophies you may need from these two games sooner rather than later.
