Naughty Dog releases new Last of Us Part II story trailer for Abby

By Brittany Vincent,
The Last of Us™ Part II has been out on the market for about six months, but that hasn't stopped Naughty Dog from dropping a new trailer to focus on Abby's side of the story.

Naughty Dog Senior Communications Manager Scott Lowe dropped by the PlayStation Blog to share the clip, which puts together the hardships and the emotional journey deuteragonist Abby takes on as a flip side to what Ellie is experiencing throughout the sequel.

"We’ve put together a new trailer that provides an expanded look at the story, and, for the first time, focuses on Abby’s emotional journey as it intersects and collides with Ellie’s," wrote Lowe. "It explores her origins, the events that spark her search for vengeance, and the devastating repercussions that follow. You’ll also get a glimpse into Abby’s unique gameplay and how her training, equipment, and skills contrast Ellie’s."

For some time, Abby's side of the story has been a bit more shrouded in secrecy than Ellie's when it's come to seeing her narrative unfold throughout the promotional materials for the game. Now, just in time for folks to snap up games for the holidays, the chance to take a look and see what Abby's been going through has presented itself.

The Last of Us Part II is a harrowing journey that ultimately follows Ellie after a tragedy befalls her. We awarded it a 5 out of 5 upon review, praising its writing and level of polish.

"The Last of Us Part II is a stellar experience, with amazing writing and extremely polished - if not revolutionary - gameplay. Did it wrap things up in a more cohesive way than the original? No. But did it mean I got to spend more time in this dreadful, brilliant world, with characters I'd grown to love? Absolutely - and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat."
