CD Projekt Red warns against uploading Cyberpunk 2077 footage before release

By Sean Carey,
Cyberpunk 2077 launches in exactly seven days, and naturally, some copies of the action-RPG have already found their way into the hands of eager players. CD Projekt Red has now asked those who have an early copy of the game not to share or upload footage; otherwise, they could be served with a DMCA takedown.

Over on Twitter, the developer asked players not to upload footage before December 9th, 12 PM CET/3 AM PST. This ensures that players across the world can all enjoy a "spoiler-free" Cybperunk 2077 experience come launch day. Gamers who do break CD Projekt's request will likely be struck with a DMCA takedown notice. After this date, you can stream and upload as much footage as you wish.

Early last week, a player who managed to get hold of a PS4 copy of Cyberpunk 2077 streamed 20 minutes of gameplay from the beginning of the game.. This footage has now been removed from all the usual places on the internet, but it is still out there so be wary of potential spoilers when browsing the net.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on December 10th for PS4 and PS5 via backwards compatibility. A next-gen upgrade for the game is set to roll out sometime next year.
