New Far Cry 6 release date leaked by Microsoft Store

By Sean Carey,
According to an updated Microsoft Store listing Far Cry 6 will now launch on May 25th, 2021.

The next entry into the Far Cry franchise was originally set to launch on February 18th, 2021, but due to "production challenges" caused by the global coronavirus pandemic, Ubisoft delayed both Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine to sometime after April 2021. The new store listing suggests that Far Cry 6 will now launch in May, which is only a three-month delay from the original date.

The new Far Cry 6 release date could be a placeholder, so it's worth bearing that in mind. However, the Microsoft Store is known for revealing information early.

Ubisoft describes as Far Cry "the most expansive Far Cry playground to date." On the PlayStation 5, the game can be played at 4K resolution at 60fps. Ubisoft is also offering those who purchase a PS4 version of the game a free next-gen upgrade to the PS5 version.
