IO Interactive announces "the very first James Bond origin story," Project 007

Now we know what IO Interactive has been working on: "the very first James Bond origin story" has just been revealed as Project 007.

It's a very short teaser trailer of just under a minute, but that James Bond theme song tells us all we need to know. Over on the Project 007 site, IOI adds that the game features a "wholly original Bond story," with players being asked to "step into the shoes of the world's favourite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story."

IOI had been teasing a new project, and since the Hitman series will culminate with Hitman 3 in January next year, it made sense that the team would be ready for something new. As is probably quite fitting for a game about a spy, we don't actually know much about it yet — even the title itself is only a working title at the moment. IOI hasn't said when we will hear more about this intriguing Bond game, but we'll be sure to keep you posted.
