Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales' new trailer shows off extensive photo mode features

By Heidi Nicholas,
The Marvel's Spider-Man games are always gorgeous, and the latest entry into the series, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, looks even more so. To let you immerse yourself into that still further, the photo mode for Miles Morales gives you access to an insane level of detail and extensive features, letting you control the lighting, outfits, expressions, filters, and much more, all showcased with the game's latest trailer.

The trailer above gives examples for four different scenes: Miles swinging through the city, Miles fighting an enemy, Miles taking a selfie, and Miles and Spider-Cat teaming up to take down another opponent. Pausing the gameplay to take these pictures, the player in the trailer is able to control the camera type, hero and enemy visibility, the weather, the exposure, focus distance, filter type, and much more. For instance, there is a huge level of control over the light source, with options for the type, intensity, shadows, colour, colour intensity, spread, and softness. These all give that same image a vastly different appearance, with Miles lit from different angles. The player also switches out the suit Miles is wearing, and, like with the last Marvel's Spider-Man, layers the image with the appropriate level of comic-book text and Spider-Man quotes. The trailer ends with Miles' Spider-Man cat sitting comfortably next to a screensaver image of its own crime-fighting alter ego.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is already out, and if you're one of the lucky few living in a region where the PS5 is out too, you're able to take picture-perfect images of that Spider Cat already on the PS5. For the rest of us, Miles Morales is out now on PS4, while the PS5 launches next week on November 19th.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
