Control Ultimate Edition for PlayStation 5 has been delayed until early 2021.

Publisher 505 Games first announced Control Ultimate Edition, which includes the game's two DLC expansions, back in August. The current-gen version launched in September, but the PS5 version wasn't due to launch until later this year. The Ultimate Edition has proved controversial. 505 Games has decided not to offer a free next-gen upgrade to current owners of Control and is instead asking them to purchase the Ultimate Edition. Even if players own the base game and season pass, they'll still need to pony up extra to get the next-gen version. Several other publishers have offered their players free next-gen game upgrades.

The standard edition of Control is still playable on the PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility, but it won't be running any of the graphical enhancements included with the PS5 version of the Ultimate Edition.

Control Ultimate Edition launches on PS5 in early 2021.
