Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, new content, and New Game+ will arrive in today's free update

By Heidi Nicholas,
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the new multiplayer mode, will arrive alongside New Game+ and more new content in today's free Ghost of Tsushima update. That Version 1.1 update goes live today, October 16th — we'll keep a lookout and update as soon as it does.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is inspired by Japanese mythology, and dives more fully into that than Ghost of Tsushima itself, which focuses (most of the time) on the historical/realistic aspects of the Mongol invasion. In Legends, there's two-player story missions and four-player survival missions, with a four-player three-part raid following along post-launch. You pick from one of four classes — Hunter, Samurai, Ronin, and Assassin, each with its own class ability. Legends has new cosmetics and a Photo Mode to show them off with, along with new Trophies to earn. When the update goes live, you can access the Legends lobby in the title and pause menus, by accepting a PSN invitaiton, or by finding Gyozen the Storyteller, a new in-game character.

New Game+ meanwhile will raise the difficulty, and set you down in the game with all your Techniques, Gear, and Vanity items, after your first confrontation with the Khan. New Game+ brings quite a bit of new content, including a new black horse, new Charms, an upgrade for your sword, bow, and armour, a new type of Ghost Flower and a new merchant to trade them with, and more new Trophies.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends goes live today, and Sucker Punch expects it to be live worldwide by 9:00am PT / 5pm BST.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
