Genshin Impact version 1.1 details leak ahead of release

By Sean Carey,
The free-to-play action-RPG Genshin Impact launched on PlayStation 4 last week, and it's already become immensely popular across the world. Players have been waiting on news about the game's first major update, and it now looks like some information about Genshin Impact version 1.1 has leaked online.

According to Twitter user Zeniet, four new characters will be added to the game. Zhongli is a five-star Geo character who wields a spear (the only other character with a spear is currently Xiangling) and can petrify enemies with a Geo attack. Childe is a five-star Hydro character who uses a bow and can use it at close range thanks to his Stance Change skill. Four-star Diona, a Cryo, also has a bow and can perform a circular heal, while Xingang, a four-star Pyro character, carries a claymore and has a skill called Forcefield shield.

Select players have had access to a version 1.1 beta, which is where these images and details seem to be from. Developer Mihoyo hasn't said when version 1.1 will roll out to players, but the Venti banner runs for another couple of weeks, so it's possible 1.1 could drop towards the end of the month.

Currently, a limited-time event is taking place in Genshin Impact. Players who reach Adventure Rank 20 before the game gets updated to version 1.1 will receive Barbara, one of the best healers in the game, for free.

We'll update you on Genshin Impact's 1.1 update as soon as we learn more.
