Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War pre-order beta and open beta start later this week

By Heidi Nicholas,
The pre-order beta for Black Ops Cold War starts later this week, running from October 8th to October 9th, and followed by the open beta for all PS4 players from October 10th to October 12th.

PS4 players get the beta first, as Xbox and PC players don't get the crossplay early access beta until October 15th to October 16th, when PS4 players are having the open access beta. There will then be a beta open across all platforms from October 17th to October 19th, before the game launches in full on November 13th. This week's beta lets you try out Team Deathmatch, Domination, VIP Escort, Kill Confirmed, and Combined Arms.

There has been a fair few pieces of new info about Black Ops Cold War. Just recently, developers Raven Software and Treyarch unveiled Black Ops Cold War — Zombies, a four-person co-op mode, and an intro cinematic for Die Maschine, the first chapter in the Dark Aether story. Zombies will feature cross-play, cross-gen, and cross-progression, as well as free post-launch content, Battle Pass progression, and more.

Black Ops Cold War launches next month, on November 13th.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
