Need for Speed: Payback and Vampyr are October's PS Plus games

By Heidi Nicholas,
It's almost October, and now we know two more games we'll be playing next month. Need for Speed: Payback and Vampyr have been confirmed as October's two PS Plus titles. Both games are available from October 6th to November 2nd.

Vampyr takes you back to 1918 London, as a conflicted doctor/vampire. As noted on the PlayStation Blog, you've got supernatual powers and human weapons, plus the ability to either "save the city's populace or feed on them to become stronger." It's an action-RPG with an estimated completion time of around 20-25 hours and an average TT rating of 3.59/5, so it's well worth checking it out.

Need for Speed Payback

Zooming away from the vampiric angst and misty setting of 1900s London, the next October PS Plus game takes you to Fortune Valley on a quest to take down The House cartel as Tyler the Racer, Mac the Showman or Jess the Wheelman. This one's got a similar completion time and rating to Vampyr at 3.58/5 and an estimated completion time of around 25-30 hours.

If you're not yet ready to let go of September, this month's PS Plus games are available to download for a little while yet: you have until October 5th with Street Fighter V and PUBG. What do you think of October's selection?

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
