Introducing The Great TrueTrophy Score Challenge 2020 By Rich Stone, 25 Sep 2020 CommentsHey TT crew! After the great fun we had with The Great TrueTrophies Score Challenge 2019, it's now time to announce the second event.Welcome to The Great TrueTrophies Score Challenge 2020!GTTSC 2020 - How it worksThere are two separate but concurrent contests - the Individual Contest and the Team Contest. You can enter both contests if you want to, or just one. Both contests runs for 15 periods of one week, and at the end of each period the lowest scoring teams in each contest are eliminated and the leaderboards are reset for the next period. At the start of each period you will be shown how many bottom teams will be eliminated, and it's your (and your team's) job to stay out of the elimination zone and survive to the next period. How do you score points?Scoring this year is based on TrueTrophy Difference (a.k.a. TT Difference). TT Difference is the difference between the TrueTrophy Score and Trophy XP for a trophy. For example, this achievement in PaRappa the Rapper 2 has a TrueTrophy Score of 22, but a Trophy XP of 15 as it's a bronze trophy:The Kick, Punch, It’s all in the Mind trophy in PaRappa the Rapper 2 worth 22 pointsHit 40 tiles in a row without missing, in a bonus round. So this achievement has a TT Difference of 7.For the contest, every competing gamer has their total Trophy XP and TrueTrophy score stored at the start of the period. Their TT Difference is the difference between these two numbers. As their Trophy XP and TrueTrophy score change throughout the period, their TT Difference is constantly recalculated automatically on the contest leaderboards, and the change in the TT Difference between the start and the end of the period is their score for that period. Believe me, it's simpler than it sounds! It's also worth remembering that trophies' TrueTrophy scores are fluid. They change over time as more people start a game or unlock a particular trophy. These changes are also factored into your GTTSC scores. That means that it is actually possible to earn score without unlocking trophies just as its possible to earn negative score while unlocking trophies. For this contest, we don't track the actual trophies earned - Its literally just the gamer's TT Difference change from start to finish that we use to determine what they 'earned.' What's new for 2020?This year, as well as changing the score basis to TT Difference, we've set the length of the contest to 15 weeks, and the size of the teams to 3 gamers.A quick rundown of the stats for this year:Starts October 5thScoring is based on TT DifferenceThe contest is 15 weeks long (if you make it all the way to the end)The team contest is for teams of 3Both contests are open to PSNIDs with 5,000 Trophy XP or more (check you TT gamer page to check)PSNIDs must have full tracking to enterBonuses (weekly challenges) and Badges (weekly extreme stat leaders) will returnRegistration is open now!Community challenge badgeYou will earn a community challenge badge rank if you survive until period 4 of the individual event (so you need to survive period 3).Useful linksGTTSC 2020 HubGTTSC 2020 - FAQGTTSC 2020 DiscussionCommunity ChallengeCommunity News Written by Rich StoneCreator of TrueTrophies, TrueAchievements and TrueSteamAchievements.
