Update: Next Yakuza game to be revealed this Sunday

By Sean Carey,
Update: Unfortunately, it doesn't look like a new Yakuza game will be announced during the Sega Nama broadcast. Co-host Ayana Tsubaki, who made the earlier tweet suggesting the reveal, has now said she misunderstood the description of the stream and does not know if there will be a new Yakuza title unveiled.

Original Story: It looks like a new Yakuza title will be unveiled this weekend at Tokyo Game Show 2020. In a now-deleted tweet, co-host Ayana Tsubaki revealed that an announcement will take place during the Sega Nama broadcast this Sunday, September 27th.

Yakuza Kiwami Xbox Game Pass

As Gematsu points out, the tweet can still be read thanks to Google cache. It says "#ryugagotoku #yakuza The latest work in the [Yakuza] series will finally be announced." We already knew there was going to be some sort of Yakuza reveal at the event, but, unfortunately, the tweet still doesn't give us much to go on. To find out, we'll have to tune in to the Sega broadcast starting at 8 PM JST/ 4 AM PT/ 7 AM ET/12 PM BST, on Sunday.

There is one Yakuza title that's launching in the West soon. Yakuza: Like A Dragon, comes to PS4 on November 13th. A PS5 version is in the works, but no launch date has been announced.

The Sega broadcast kicks off on Sunday, September 27th at 8 PM JST/ 4 AM PT/ 7 AM ET/12 PM BST. You can watch live over on YouTube.
