Minecraft gets a free PS VR support update later this month By Heidi Nicholas, 07 Sep 2020 Comments Minecraft players will get a free PS VR update later this month, with the choice of two main VR modes: Immersive or Living Room.Over on the PlayStation Blog, the Mojang team says "us Mojang folks have been bursting to say something about this for ages! PS VR support has actually been a planned PS4 feature since we got the thumbs-up from Sony to bring cross platform play and the Bedrock version to PlayStation 4. There was never any question of would we, just when."After adding the "final bits of polish," players will automatically get the PS VR support patch for the "main Minecraft game." If you've got a PS VR setup and have downloaded the patch, you'll be good to go.Mojang says you'll be able to choose between Immersive and Living Room modes, but apart from that, "it’s Minecraft, but in stellar VR. It is 100% the same Minecraft game that you can play every day, every week, every month, every year…on PlayStation 4. Nothing removed. 100% wholesome & pure full-fat Minecraft" — and you'll still use your PS4 controller. There's no specific date yet, but Mojang says it's "this month." We'll keep you updated!PlayStation VR Written by Heidi NicholasHey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
