Ubisoft renames Gods & Monsters as Immortals Fenyx Rising By Heidi Nicholas, 04 Sep 2020 Comments Gods & Monsters was a highly anticipated new IP from Ubisoft, which made the lack of news for the last year or so all the more bizarre. Now, Ubisoft has confirmed the game's name has been changed from Gods & Monsters to Immortals Fenyx Rising. We haven't seen enough of the game lately to know whether the name change goes hand-in-hand with a change to gameplay — which could explain Ubisoft's silence — but we'll hear more next week, as Ubisoft has also confirmed its next digital showcase will take place on September 10th. The next Ubisoft Forward runs from 12pm PDT / 8pm BST, during which we'll also get a look at Watch Dogs: Legion and Rainbow Six Siege. Ubisoft confirmed the name change in the Ubisoft Forward announcement, saying we'll see "a much-anticipated update on our new IP, Immortals Fenyx Rising, formerly known as Gods & Monsters."It seems we'll have a proper reveal of Immortals Fenyx Rising on September 10th, but in the meantime, some new screenshots popped up as a potential December release date leaked on the Microsoft Store. The fan response to the name-change so far seems a little mixed, so it'll be interesting to see what Ubisoft has planned for the reveal next week.PlayStation 4 Written by Heidi NicholasHey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
