Fall Guys pits brands against each other in aid of gaming charity SpecialEffect

By Sean Carey,
Mediatonic is pitting brands against each other in the name of charity. The developer is holding a competition that includes a grand prize of a custom skin in its hit game, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.

Brands, YouTubers and other companies are all bidding to have their own custom skin in the battle royale game with all proceeds going to gaming charity SpecialEffect. A tweet announcing the competition reads, "The thirst from brands has been unreal... so we're turning it into something positive! Prize: Your brand inside Fall Guys as a costume." The developer is asking brands to reply to the tweet with how much they'd be willing to donate to the charity.

At the time of writing, the current leader is G2 Esports who have pledged a huge $130,003. However, the esports club could be outbid soon as famous YouTuber Mr Beast, who has already bid once before, is eyeing to take the top spot. Replying to the Fall Guys and G2 Esports Twitter accounts Mr Beast said, "Good morning! I'll let you have the top spot for a while. I'll bid again in a week."

The competition will run for two weeks, and it's likely that Mediatonic and the Fall Guys team will raise even more cash for SpecialEffect in that time. It's great to see a developer using the viral fame of its game for such a worthy cause.
