Control's Alan Wake DLC will add new story content; launches later this month

Control's AWE DLC launches on August 27th, adding new story content, side missions, weapons and mods.

The Altered World Events expansion got a new trailer during today's State of Play, and a little bit of new info: "As Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, Jesse Faden must enter the Investigations Sector and confront the creature lurking within this long-abandoned part of the Bureau. This threat has haunted the sector for years, waiting on the other side of the sealed Firebreak. In order to reclaim the Investigations Sector from its clutches, Jesse will need to explore the numerous Altered World Events investigated here, including one from the town of Bright Falls. AWE brings new story content and side missions as well as new weapons and mods to the world of Control."

The AWE expansion was revealed as part of Control's roadmap at the end of last year, with speculation that it would link the game to Remedy's Alan Wake. The new trailer gives us a glimpse of the character, along with a single line of dialogue: "whatever you do, stay in the light."

AWE will launch on August 27th.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
