Ghost of Tsushima stats show players have already petted over 8 million foxes By Heidi Nicholas, 31 Jul 2020 Comments Ghost of Tsushima has only been out for a few weeks, but players have already managed to pet over 8 million foxes, take part in over 57 million duels, and spent over 800 years on horseback, in just the first ten days.PlayStation has shared some new player stats for the first ten days after the game launched. Ghost of Tsushima is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful games we've had in recent years. Galloping up and down the island takes you through bamboo forests, up snowy mountains, across rain swept beaches, under golden trees, and past gorgeous vistas in every direction. To make full use of this, the game's got a seriously brilliant photo mode, which lets you add in extra ambience filters like dragonflies and red maple leaves. It seems a lot of players have been using the photo mode, since in total, there's been 15.5 million photos taken in the first ten days alone. There's also been 156.4 million standoffs, 57.5 million duels, 139.4 million enemies collapsed in fear, 810.3 years spent on horseback, 16.2 million Onsen visited, and 14.2 million haikus written. While you're zooming around Tsushima, you can have Jin stop to take in the scenery and play the flute. PlayStation's stats show 28.1 million flute songs were played in those first ten days. Arguably one of the most important parts of the game is that you can pet the foxes, and it seems a lot of players have done just that: 8.8 million foxes have been petted. Lastly, there's been 17.1 million bamboo strikes completed, and 37.5 million Inari shrines honoured.Just to add to Ghost of Tsushima's impressive debut, PlayStation also recently announced that "Ghost of Tsushima is now PS4's fastest selling first-party original IP debut with more than 2.4 million units sold through globally in its first 3 days of sales." I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
