The Last of Us Part 2 breaks physical sales records in the UK By Sean Carey, 22 Jun 2020 CommentsThe Last of Us Part II has smashed UK physical sales records and is the biggest launch for Sony this generation. According to UK sales charts obtained by gamesindustry.biz, The Last of Us Part II beat out 2016's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End by just 1%, making the horror action game Sony's fastest-selling release for the PlayStation 4. It should be noted that this data does not include digital game sales and is exclusive to physical copies only.The Last of Us Part 2 has already sold far more in its launch week than the original game The Last of Us with launch sales coming in at 76% higher than the PS3 game. The new figures show that The Last of Us Part 2 has had the biggest UK launch of any physical game so far this year. The PlayStation exclusive has sales figures 40% higher than the previous record-holder, Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
