The Last of Us Part II has been delayed

By Heidi Nicholas,
PlayStation has just announced that Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II has been delayed, as has Marvel's Iron Man VR. Neither has yet received a new release date.

In the Tweet, PlayStation say they made the "difficult decision to delay the launch of The Last of Us Part II and Marvel's Iron Man VR until further notice", saying that "Logistically, the global crisis is preventing us from providing the launch experience our players deserve."

Naughty Dog followed up with their own update, saying that one piece of good news is that they're "nearly done with development" and are "in the midst of fixing their final bugs". They, too, cite the difficulties of "logistics beyond their control", which meant that they couldn't launch the game "to their satisfaction", since they want to make sure that players will be able to get the game around the same time. They add that they "hope it won't be a long delay", and will share more information as soon as they have any.

PlayStation has said that there are currently no other delays to announce. We'll update you as soon as we hear a new release date, or of any further delays.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
