Playing the Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo rewards you with a free dynamic PS4 theme

By Heidi Nicholas,
The demo for the Final Fantasy VII Remake has been out for over a week, but Square Enix are now showing off three dynamic themes — the first of which can be earned just by downloading the demo.

All you have to do for this one is download the demo before May 11th, and you'll have it from April 10th. The next one, showing a dramatic view of Midgar and Cloud Strife, doesn't have a date for when it'll be available, but it'll be free for PS Plus members. The last one, a dynamic Sephiroth theme, is only available by pre-ordering the game either through Amazon for US players, or from available stores in Europe.

These won't be the only themes available, since Square Enix also says there's more themes to come. The demo, which is still available to download, contains the first chapter of the game: the Mako Reactor 1 bombing mission. You can play as Cloud Strife and Barret Wallace, and will also come across the Scorpion Sentinel, with the chance to try out the new combat system. However, it's worth remembering that progress won't carry over.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
