By Sean Carey,
Frictional Games has announced a follow-up to its survival horror title, Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The new game, Amnesia: Rebirth features a new story, setting and protagonist and is coming to both PS4 and PC in the autumn.

Frictional Games is returning to its roots, according to a post over on PlayStation Blog. The developers say that they've built on everything they've learned from the first game, and Amnesia: Rebirth will be keeping players on their toes. Players will experience, "an emotionally harrowing journey — something different, something less predictable." The game has been designed to test players in a way they haven't experienced before.

The game focuses on a new character called Tasi Trianon. She sets out on a horrifying journey and has to pull together fragmented memories of her past that will test the limits of her resilience.

Amnesia: Rebirth is scheduled on PS4 and PC this Autumn.
