*Updated* PlayStation will no longer be attending PAX East

By Heidi Nicholas,
Update: Sony Interactive Entertainment has now announced that PlayStation won't be at PAX East this year, due to concerns about the Coronavirus outbreak. "Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment made the decision to cancel its participation at PAX East in Boston this year due to increasing concerns related to COVID-19 (also known as “novel coronavirus”). We felt this was the safest option as the situation is changing daily. We are disappointed to cancel our participation in this event, but the health and safety of our global workforce is our highest concern."

Original story:
PlayStation have outlined what games they're bringing to PAX East later in the month, and there's a fair few on the list; including an hour-long demo of The Last of Us Part II.

Dynamic theme

PAX East runs from 10am to 6pm each day between February 27th until March 1st, and PlayStation say that while attendees are welcome to come and try out the various demos, there isn't an endless number of spaces; they recommend using the Experience PlayStation mobile app to get yourself a spot. They'll be at booths #10047, #18003, #14047, and #12047. New appointments will continue to be made available every day of the event. The full list of games they'll be bringing is as follows:

  • Below
  • Cloudpunk
  • Doom Eternal
  • Dreams (#18003)
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake
  • Genshin Impact
  • Gorn (PS VR)
  • Haven
  • The Last of Us Part II: available at booth #10047, this will give players the chance to try out an hour-long early part of the game, called "Patrol". It looks as though it's part of what's been shown in recent trailers — where Ellie and Dina go out of Jackson to eradicate the infected.
  • Marvel’s Iron Man VR (PS VR)
  • MLB The Show 20
  • Mosaic
  • Moving Out
  • Nioh 2
  • One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows
  • Paper Beast (PS VR)
  • Persona 5 Royal
  • Pixel Ripped 1995
  • Predator: Hunting Grounds
  • Remnant: From the Ashes
  • The Room VR: A Dark Matter (PS VR)
  • Space Channel 5 (PS VR)
  • Spelunky 2
  • Trials of Mana
  • Zombie Army 4
For a number of these titles, like The Last of Us Part II, PAX East doesn't fall too far from their release dates, so it's likely attendees will be seeing some interesting details. We'll keep you updated with all the info coming out of PAX East when it kicks off later this month.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
