Sony closes its Manchester Studio which was working on an unannounced PSVR title By Sean Carey, 05 Feb 2020 CommentsSony is to close its Machester based games studio after five years of being in business as part of an effort to "improve efficiency". The studio was reportedly working on an unannounced PlayStation VR title. In a statement provided to gamesindustry.biz, Sony said that it intends "to close it as part of our efforts to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness". It is believed that all staff at the studio have been made redundant. The news leaves just two first-party Sony development studios in the UK including Media Molecule, behind games such as the upcoming Dreams and the Little Big Planet series and SIE London Studio who recently released the VR title, Blood & Truth. Sony previously closed Guerilla Cambridge in 2017 after 22 years of business and Evolution in 2016 — both were said to be working on PlayStation VR titles.PlayStation VRIndustry News Written by Sean CareyHey everyone!
