Bluepoint Games' strange tweet teases a possible Metal Gear Solid remake

By Sean Carey,
While everyone was out trick or treating and celebrating the spookiest day of the year, Bluepoint Games posted a cryptic tweet that went mostly unnoticed. The strange tweet teases what we think could be a number of possible remakes or remasters. Bluepoint brought the HD versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 to consoles, and this bizarre tweet could be suggesting something to do with another Metal Gear Solid game.

The tweet reads: "So calm this spooky night. A symphony of rumors - not one, but two - return from shadow. A resistance to dart home as black monsters escape twisted hills to wander lands and syphon souls. Filter your candy collections, soft from solid, and be eco-friendly. Have a metal Halloween."

Many are speculating that this tweet points to a number of possible games. Some think it could be remasters or remakes for Castlevania Symphony of the Night or possibly the PlayStation exclusives, Demon's Souls, Syphon Filter or Shadow of the Colossus.

Bluepoint has been responsible for a number of different PlayStation ports and remakes. Bluepoint brought the God of War Collection and The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection to the PlayStation 3. More recently, Bluepoint remastered the three PS3 releases of the Uncharted series bringing them to the PS4 in the form of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and they managed a spectacular ground-up rebuild of Shadow of the Colossus on PS4 too.

Bluepoint's president Marco Thrush spoke with Wired as part of its story about the upcoming PS5. Thrush said to Wired, "We're working on a big one right now. I'll let you figure out the rest." It's likely that the tweet mentioned above and that quote hints towards a release for the PS5, but what that is, nobody knows and we can only speculate. This new tweet certainly fuels more speculation about a possible Metal Gear Solid remaster.

What games do you think Bluepoint is hinting act? And what would you like to see remastered for the PS5? Let us know in the comments below.

Hey everyone! I'm Sean. I have been writing gaming content for various outlets over the past few years while studying a degree in Journalism. I grew up on everything PlayStation — mainly Metal Gear Solid, with a brief foray into the world of Xbox. Nowadays, you'll find me mainly playing multiplayer PC games such as Mordhau, but with the recent addition of the Xbox Games Pass for PC, I'm looking forward to improving my TA Score and completion percentage!
