Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Won't Release in Russia on PlayStation 4

By Sam Quirke,
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare might be claiming a fresh start in its marketing, but the release is hounded by the same old rivalries. Presumably because of it content, the latest Call of Duty title won't be releasing on PS4 in Russia. The information was found on the Call of Duty Russia Twitter feed by CharlieINTEL.

Take this rough translation with a pinch of salt, but the Modern Warfare Russia account takes pains to call Modern Warfare's story "fully fictional" and "crafted to please all players" before seeming to place blame at the feet of SIE (presumably, Sony Interactive Entertainment) for the decision to remove the game from sale in Russia. The decision only affects PS4, at least at the time of writing: The tweet goes on to say that the team are looking "forward to the release of the game in digital form for PC and Xbox", on October 25th as scheduled.

What do you think of this move? Let us know in the comments.
