A patent filing uncovered by industry analyst Daniel Ahmad details a Siri-like voice assistant that could give you a clue on how to solve a puzzle, information about an enemy and even provide directions to in-game locations.

Sony PS5 Voice Assistant Patent Filing

The patent filing is titled "Voice Help System Using Artificial Intelligence." It was filed back in March and published in September. In the patent, it details a console that can receive voice commands such as "Hey PlayStation" followed by a query. The patent shows several illustrations of a player asking the assistant varying questions in a game of Skyrim. Queries such as "What is that?" in reference to a Draugr, are then followed by a picture and detailed explanation which is then displayed onscreen.

It also looks as if the voice assistant will work with phones in two different ways. One, instead of shrinking the screen while playing, query information will be displayed on the phone. And via an "SMS" style system. Images show the voice assistant providing detailed walkthroughs on how to complete quests and other handy information working on a stand-alone phone.

It is important to note that this is just a patent filing. It doesn't mean that this feature is specifically coming to the PS5 or anything at all. If this feature does end up in the PS5, it will be interesting to see if walkthroughs for Trophies will be included.
