Trials of Mana Reborn Is Out Next Year

By Heidi Nicholas,
Trials of Mana is a remake of Seiken Desetsu 3, a popular RPG classic from the 90's. It will be releasing on April 24th next year.

Trials of Mana is set in a world where the power of Mana is slowly weakening. The game's site gives more detail on the story:
"When the world was shrouded in darkness, the Goddess of Mana drew forth the Sword of Mana to smite the eight Benevodons, monsters of destruction. She sealed the horrors inside the eight Mana Stones, bringing the realm back from the brink. Weakened from rebuilding the world, the Goddess changed herself into a tree and fell into a deep sleep for many years. However, the forces of evil soon sought to free the Benevodons to gain control of the world. They started a terrible war to further their plot and destabilize the kingdoms. Peace was at an end. Mana itself began to disappear from the world and the Mana Tree started to wither..."

Trials of Mana features several central characters, including Duran, a "young swordsman from the kingdom of Valsena" and Angela, a "rebellious princess" from Altena, the "kingdom of magicians". Players choose from among these, as to who will be their main character and companions. The story changes to reflect this choice.

Players who pre-order the game will receive 2 bonuses: the Trial of Mana Avatar Set (including Duran, Angela, Kevin, Charlotte, Hawkeye and Riesz), and the Rabite Adornment DLC.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
