The dust of E3 has settled, and the quiet summer months of the gaming calendar are here. Does that mean you should go outside? Of course not, silly. It means you should close all the curtains, refuse all calls, crack open the backlog and take a sip. That's right, it's time for the Annual International Bean Dive — you know, the one that runs every year that we totally missed for two years! Here's how you can join in with the event, which has started today!
What is a Bean Dive?A valid question, truth-seekers. The Bean Dive is a community-wide event that was originally brought to life ten years ago by known scoundrel Beanpotter. The idea is that you add any games in your ever-increasing backlog to your PSN ID by popping a single trophy in each one. On the one hand it means you will finally try at least a little bit of all of those abandoned games in your hoard. On the other hand, your completion percentage is going to take a hit. Your goal over the next 12 months is to try and work your way through as many of those newly added games as possible, to try and recover your completion percentage to its former glory.
How to RegisterRegistration for the event officially begins on Friday July 12th at midday UTC and will close on July 22nd at midday UTC. To register, simply head over to the Bean Dive 2019 Hub and click the "Start My Dive" button once the event is officially underway.
Once clicked, we'll instantly capture your current TT stats and begin tracking your Bean Dive stats. To add a game to your Bean Dive simply pop one trophy (or as few as possible, but ideally one) in each of them, and they will automatically be included in your Bean Dive stats. Once you've added your last game, clicking the "Finished Dive" button in the Bean Dive Hub will allow the site to start tracking your road to recovery, and a message will appear on your friend feed with the total number of games added and your total completion percentage drop. Don't hit Finish my Dive until we've scanned in all the trophies you want to include!
