The Latest Ratalaika Game Might Not Make It To Vita

By Sam Quirke, 2 months ago
Ratalaika Games have earned a reputation in the trophy hunting community for publishing games with super quick and easy Platinums — and making them available on Vita and PS4. The latest of these was Devious Dungeon 2, which despite its ease is a pretty fun casual rogue-lite that we would recommend. The next game on Ratalaika's slate is proving trickier to port to PlayStation's handheld device.

Even the Ocean is already available on Steam and has gained some positive press for its diverse cast and accessibility options. Ratalaika are obviously pleased to port the game over to other consoles, but it sounds like the game is proving tricky to put on Vita:

Of course for those hoping to stack an easy Platinum on two devices should take care even if the game launches on Vita — not every single Ratalaika product is a guaranteed easy win, as I found with the deceptively tricky League of Evil. Looking at Even the Ocean's Steam list, it looks like there might be some trickier unlocks in the game's Gauntlet mode.

Hopefully Ratalaika manages to work out the kinks and get Even the Ocean onto handhelds. Regardless of the difficulty of the game's trophy list, it looks to be a perfect game for those of us still gripping on to their Vitas for dear life, and a successful port will only give the game a little more exposure — especially with less indie competition than the heavily flooded Nintendo Switch.

Even the Ocean releases on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch — and maybe the Vita — later this year.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Even the Ocean trophies.
