With E3 fast approaching, you might be forgiven for thinking we're unlikely to see many major announcements before the show. However, with Sony not in attendance this year, it seems like Kojima Productions is gearing up for a DEATH STRANDING announcement sooner rather than later. A teaser post on the developer's Twitter feed suggests we're due to see something tomorrow, May 29th.
If you're wondering what "create the rope" may mean, this is referring to a short novel by Kobo Abe, Rope, that is an important inspiration for game director Hideo Kojima in the game's creation. The novel describes how mankind created sticks to use as weapons and keep bad things away, but then created rope to keep good and useful things close by. Kojima intends to use the "ropes" that link people together to create a different gameplay experience, and they're the black threads seen in the above image. Ahead of tomorrow's news, the game director also released a short teaser clip on his Twitter account to whet players' appetites.
As soon as we hear more tomorrow, we'll be sure to let you know.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the DEATH STRANDING trophies.
