Next Yakuza Game Could Arrive by March 2020

Last month, SEGA confirmed that the next instalment in the Ryu ga Gotoku series, known as Yakuza in the west, would be arriving on the PlayStation 4. While we didn't know when that game would be released, the latest financial report from SEGASammy suggests the game may be arriving sooner rather than later, or at least during this financial year.

The title will feature protagonist Ichiban Kasuga who starred in Yakuza Online on mobile and PC. Born in Kamurocho, the 40-year-old never knew his parents and was instead raised by a woman who ran a local snack bar. He was rescued by an Aragawa yakuza and became a wakashu of Tojo Clan’s Aragawa family. He'll appear in the new title with an unknown female partner.

The title is currently due to release before the end of March 2020, although that's likely to be in Japan. If the game does come to the west, it will almost definitely release later. In the meantime, western gamers can instead look forward to the release of Judgment on June 25th.
