Street Fighter V Free to Play for Limited Time

By Rebecca Smith,
Mortal Kombat 11 may well have just come out yesterday, but Capcom wants to gently remind you that there's another major fighting franchise already available on the PlayStation 4. As such, Street Fighter V is currently available in a free trial for the next couple of weeks.

Free trial

Beginning today, players will be able to try out all 16 of the game's original characters, all of the game's original content, and all of the modes introduced with Arcade Edition. There are also four DLC characters to use — Akuma, Blanka, Juri and Menat — although these are only available in Ranked, Casual, Battle Lounge, Training, and Challenges. Players who already own the game but don't own the DLC characters will be able to make use of the trial too and try them out throughout the trial period.

Players who choose to purchase the game or any of the DLC characters after the trial will be able to keep their progress. During the trial there will be discounts on "all editions of the game, character passes and costume bundles", so take a look at the PlayStation Store to see if something catches your eye.

The trial will be available on PlayStation 4 until 5pm UTC on May 6th. Players in North America can download the trial by clicking on the Free Demo button on this page, while players in Europe and Australia can download the trial from this page.
