The Last of Us Part II's Final Scene Has Been Shot, According to Director

In a tease of Marvel Cinematic Universe proportions, Neil Druckman has shared an image of the final page of The Last of Us Part II's script, stating that shooting on the game's final scene has been completed.

Of course, anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of how movie shooting and video game creation works knows that these things tend to get filmed out of sequence. Besides which, even if the game was completely "shot", we don't know what that means. It could be that all of the principal cutscene photography is done, but work on the rest of the game is far from over.

With news of the next generation of Sony console in the headlines this week, one has to wonder where The Last of Us Part II will sit in that longer marketing campaign. Will it be the PS4's grand swan song, or an opening salvo for the next machine? Could it be both? We'll have to wait and see. Knowing Sony and their studios, don't expect more than a few teases until they're absolutely ready to show us what they've got.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the The Last of Us Part II trophies.
