Sony Gives You a Chance to Change Your PSN Name if it Breaks the Rules

By Rebecca Smith,
This week, Sony rolled out the ability to change your PlayStation ID to all players. As always, this process may cause problems for a few players, and some may have seen their PlayStation ID changed to "Tempxxxxxx". This is because there's a problem with the PlayStation ID and it has breached the PSN Terms of Service, but Sony is offering players a chance to fix this.

If you're one of the players whose PlayStation ID was changed to Tempxxxxxx after you changed it to something else, Sony is offering players the chance to revert back to their previous PlayStation ID for no cost. To request the opportunity to go back to your previous ID, you'll need to contact Sony. You can find a contact number for Sony in your country by typing "revert online ID" into the search bar on this page.

If you're one of the players whose original PlayStation ID has been changed to Tempxxxxxx, Sony is offering players the chance to change their PlayStation ID for the first time for free. You can find instructions on how to do this right here.

Changing your PlayStation ID comes with the chance of causing problems with certain games that you had played prior to the name change. We have a list of games with critical issues for you to check before you decide to change your PlayStation ID. If you do decide to go ahead, or are forced to do so, here's how to update your profile on our site, but if you have any problems, make sure to let us know as soon as possible.
