PlayStation Blog has revealed that the PSN Online ID change system is rolling out to all users starting today. Although the change pages are not showing any options as of yet, PS Blog has the low down on how it works.

First, the bad news. When the system was first announced, it was a blow to hear that changing your PSN Online ID could cause irreperable problems with games release prior to April 2018. After the testing period, it turns out that at least one game released after April last year is also experiencing issues, meaning that Sony cannot guarantee that your PSN Online ID change will not cause problems with later releases.

We have a list of games with critical issues which you should look at before deciding to move over your Online ID to a new name. We will aim to keep this updated with the latest information.

So how do you go about changing your name, if you accept the risks? Here's the steps to do so on PlayStation 4 and on your web browser. You cannot change your ID via your PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita.
