A couple of weeks ago, Gearbox released a series of teasers on Twitter for games and updates they'd be revealing during their PAX East panel. Amongst those teasers was a pixelated image of Borderlands 2. We, like many, believed that to be a Switch port of that title, but we were wrong. Instead, all of the DLC released for Borderlands 2 will be arriving as a free update for Borderlands 2 VR. Not only that, Ultra HD Texture Packs were revealed for PlayStation 4 Pro owners of Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection.
The Borderlands 2 DLC included "Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty", "Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage", "Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt", "Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep", " T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest", "The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler", " How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day", "Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre", and "Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax". Whether their associated trophies will also be added to Borderlands 2 VR remains to be seen, but for now, all we know is that they will be added as a free update this summer.
The Ultra HD Texture Packs for the Handsome Jack Collection will include upgraded game textures for characters, vehicles, weapons, and environments in both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. To accompany the announcement, Gearbox released a new trailer for the collection that shows players everything that's available:
The Texture Packs will be available for free from the PlayStation Store on April 3rd. As soon as we get more information on the VR DLC, we'll be sure to let you know.
