Marvel’s Iron Man VR Announced

By Rebecca Smith,
PlayStation's State of Play video presentation featured a fair number of PlayStation VR titles. One of those is a new title from Camouflaj and is based on a Marvel property we haven't seen on consoles for nine years, except for appearances in LEGO titles. Marvel’s Iron Man VR aims to make the Armored Avenger's flying, shooting, and "epic Super Hero actions" feel natural on PSVR so that players feel like they're actually taking on the role of Iron Man.

As inventor Tony Stark, players will confront ghosts from the character's past as he tries to thwart powerful forces that wish to ruin him. This means players will meet "iconic allies and Super Villains" as they travel around the world to save both Stark Industries and the world itself. The team has even designed a brand new Iron Man armor in collaboration with Marvel's illustrator and costume designer, Adi Granov. The Impulse Armor has "mixes a classic comic book aesthetic with an ultra-modern twist".

The story will be completely original and more details have been promised later, but for now you can take a look at the game's announcement trailer below:

Marvel's Iron Man VR will be released exclusively on PSVR later this year.
