Anthem's Crashing Bug Should be Fixed in Next Patch

By Rebecca Smith,
Anthem's crashing bug on PlayStation 4 has been causing discontent since the end of last week. After gathering information on the bug and its possible causes, BioWare's Head of Live Service, Chad Robertson, has confirmed that they've identified several causes for the consoles powering down and that the issues will be fixed in a patch due to arrive next week.

He also confirmed that "after thorough review, we have not encountered an instance where Anthem has “bricked” a PS4 console." However, he urges any gamers who are experiencing different circumstances to reach out to @EAHelp so they can investigate those incidents.

If you want to see more details about the changes and fixes BioWare will be implementing in the game's next patch, you can take a look at the latest development stream where Lead Producer Ben Irving describes the update in detail.

The update is expected to arrive on March 12th. In the meantime, if you're one of the players experiencing power downs while playing the game, we advise waiting for the patch to appear before trying to play the game again. After all, while you may be able to restart the console in safe mode, doing this repeatedly probably won't do it any good.
