The latest IP from Yakuza developer Ryu ga Gotoku Studio will be arriving in the west soon. Publisher SEGA has revealed Judgment will launch on PlayStation 4 in June with pre-orders beginning tomorrow, March 7th.
The game tells the story of "ex-defense-attorney-turned-private-detective" Takayuki Yagami, who is trying to solve a murder in Kamurocho. Players will need to look for collect evidence and catch the culprits, but as you can imagine, it will involve some Yakuza-style beat downs. This will be done using two combat styles. The first, Crane Style, allows players to use sweeing blows to take down crowds of enemies, while the more concentrated Tiger style focuses on landing a series of powerful strikes on a single enemy. Players will be able to mix and match styles with skills, weapons, and EX Actions to add variety.
The physical edition of the game will come with a reversible cover that also features the Japanese game art, as well as a Ryu ga Gotoku Studio sticker. Meanwhile, those who pre-order the digital version of the game will instead receive a static theme featuring the game's protagonist, as well as getting four days early access to the game.
Judgment will launch worldwide on June 25th. Those who pre-order the digital edition will be able to access the game from June 21st.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Judgment trophies.
