Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered Rated for PS4

Rumours of the existence of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered have been spreading for a little while, but they've been given more weight today by the appearance, and then rapid disappearance, of a PEGI trademark rating the game for PlayStation 4.

The brief truncated description of the game stated "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is a combat simulation game in which the player takes the role of various members of a Special Operations team attempting to thwart the plans of a Russian..." The full description could not be viewed. The listing also gave a release date of February 28th, 2019, which is obviously a placeholder.

Activision has not made any mention of the game so far, but with the tenth anniversary of Modern Warfare 2 occurring this year, it would be a missed opportunity not to capitalise on that. The chances are that like Modern Warfare Remastered, the game will be included with special editions of this year's new Call of Duty game, especially as this year's instalment is due to be developed by Infinity Ward. The game will then likely be released as a standalone version later. As soon as we hear anything definite, though, we'll be sure to let you know.

Of course, don't forget that you can try out Modern Warfare Remastered for yourself as part of this month's PlayStation Plus titles. It will be available to download from March 5th.
