Dreams Creator Early Access Begins in Spring

By Rebecca Smith,
The Dreams beta began in December for Media Molecule newsletter subscribers, and at the start of January for everyone else. Through the six weeks the beta ran, players came up with all sorts of clever creations while the developer encouraged those creative minds with tips and tricks to help things along. The full game still has a way to go, though, so the developer has decided to release the game into Early Access on PlayStation 4 this spring.

Like all games that enter Early Access, the full range of gameplay features won't be available, but Media Molecule does promise that players will have access to "100% of the same Dreams tools that we have used every day". This includes tutorials for all skill levels, and ready-made arcade games that players can remix. More features, assets, tutorials, arcade levels, refinements and bug fixes will be added as the Early Access period progresses.

Those who took part in the beta will find all of their beta creations will be present and correct. Like the beta, Early Access will be limited so Media Molecule can react to problems and feedback more easily. Players will be able to purchase the Early Access version of the game for US$29.99/CA$39.99/€29.99 when it's released this spring. Early Access will be limited to UK, USA, Australia, Austria, Benelux, Canada, New Zealand, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Spain.
