Controversial Assassin's Creed Odyssey Growing Up Trophy Renamed

By Rebecca Smith,
When the second episode of Assassin's Creed Odyssey's "Legacy of the First Blade" DLC was released, one of the trophies caused a bit of controversy. Growing Up required players to start a family by having a baby with a partner of the opposite sex. However, for players who wanted a non-romantic storyline, or who were having a relationship with a partner of the same gender, it meant their choices no longer mattered. Ubisoft was seeking to make amends by changing a "cutscene and some dialogue" in "Shadow Heritage", but now it seems they're going one step further and changing the name and description of the trophy too.

Shadow Heritage

On PlayStation 4, the trophy has been renamed to Blood of Leonidas, and the description has been changed to "Continue the bloodline". The change seems to suggest that the story now has more to do with a duty to continue the Leonidas line, rather than the player's desire to start a family, and is certainly no longer a perceived criticism of alternative lifestyles or orientations.
