With Operation Wind Bastion due to end soon, players may be wondering what's next for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. The answer is a new year and a new season. Year Four Season One: Operation Burnt Horizon is on its way, bringing along two new operators and a new map.
The two new operators, one an Attacker and the other a Defender, come from the Australian SASR, or the Special Air Service Regiment to give it its full name. Friends for years before joining Rainbow Six, they'll bring their knowledge and gadgets to the fray, including "a new device that’ll keep roaming Defenders on their toes, and one that’ll leave Attackers at a bit of a loss".
As you may expect, the new operators are also coming with a new map inspired by their home country, the 21st map of the game. The desert map features a service station at which a high-stakes standoff is happening. There's a fast food counter and plenty of gifts in the shop, but they're not likely to help much in the bartering stakes. The clouds of dust are probably better at providing cover instead. You can take a better look at the map in the trailer below:
More information on the upcoming season is promised for February 17th, when the Rainbow Six Twitch channel will be broadcasting the Six Invitational in Montréal and will take the opportunity to reveal the season in full.
