Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers will be the next major expansion for the title, and it's due to arrive this summer. If you're eagerly anticipating its release, you can pre-order the expansion from today and receive some bonus content into the bargain. If you're not sure what to expect, we have plenty of trailers and other details for you, starting with the extended teaser trailer:
First, players will be able to take the role of a new Job, the Gunbreaker. He's a tank character that wields gunblades and he can be seen in action in the next shorter trailer.
There's also a new playable race known as the Viera, who players may have seen before in Ivalice. Don't let the rabbit ears fool you into thinking they're innocent — this race has been charged with caring for the woods and they don't treat that responsibility lightly.
There will be two new areas. As it's name suggests, the Rak’tika Greatwood is a large forest full of huge ancient sentinels. In contrast, Il Mheg is a fertile vale full of flora and structures old and new.
A new Alliance Raid will be a follow-up to the Return to Ivalice series. YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse is a collaboration between NieR creators Yosuke Saito and YOKO TARO. Other features included in the expansion are the new pixie Beast Tribe with their Primal regent Titania. Finally, there's a new Trust System where players can tackle Shadowbringers dungeons, but instead of recruiting up to three other players to join them, they can take them on with familiar NPCs instead.
If you're liking the sound of the expansion, you may be interested in the FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers Collector’s Edition, which is available to pre-order from the Square Enix Store from 11AM PT today. The Collector's Edition includes:
